Full Moon Walking Trail
Embrace nature in the 7 night walking trail in the Makuleke Concession with specialist guide Johna Turner
The first night is spent at Baobab Hill Bush House where Johna will brief you on the itinerary and days to follow. Johna also uses this time to help you lighten your backpacks, as we often carry items that are not always necessary - don't worry, these can be easily and safely stored at Pafuri's main camp.
As this is a slack packing trail you do not need to worry about carrying your own camping mattress, food, sleeping bag, extra water and cooking utensils, these will be dropped off at various pre determined nightly stop points.
The next three days will be spent walking on ancient animal pathways, interpreting nature and coming across incredible wildlife both big and small. The nights will be spent camping under the stars in the middle of the bush with a small fire burning. Each member of the walking team will take turns on watch during the darker hours until the sun comes up and the group departs on foot, leaving no trace behind.
The Pafuri Walking Trails Camp is base for the last three nights of the trail. This rustic yet comfortable bush camp is completely off the grid but still has the luxuries of hot water warmed daily on a big open fire that the guides use to fill up the bucket showers. Delicious home cooked meals are prepared in our bush kitchen. Walks take on a more leisurely pace and guests are driven to special parts of the concession to get out on foot and walk.
This is so much more than a walking trail, it is truly one of a kind.
